The Competition is open to young male and female dancers of all nationalities.

Candidates in categories Baby - Juniores Under and Juniores must provide an identity document.

General rules:

  • Only 25% of the group in the baby category can consist of elements born from 1998 to 2000 (Juniores Under).
  • The age considered for the other categories will be the age of the majority of the groups.
  • The elder dancer will define the category for couples/duo composed by dancers of different categories.
  • Each School can perform one or more choreographies in the same style and category, too if the majority of dancers is formed by different dancers.
  • The choreography to be presented is completely free, it is necessary to give a correct specification of the style at the time of application.
  • The same dancers can perform more time with choreogrphy of different style.
  • Soloists and the Couples can perform only one free variation (or from repertoire) in the same style.
  • Couples can be a part of a group. Soloists can be a part of a duo or couple and of a group.
  • Maximum time for coreography:
    - Groups           5 minutes
    - Couples/Duo  5 minutes  (only classical pas de deux 8 minutes)
    - Soloists          3 minutes
  • Rehearsals are not planned.
  • All travelling, board and lodging expenses will be taken in charge by partecipants.
  • The candidate admitted to the contest automatically authorizes the Competition Organization to make use of his proper image for promotional purposes, TV shots and the press.
  • All competitiors must know the regulation.
  • Participation implies approval of this regulation in full.
  • Application form must be received by December 20th,2010.

Stage:

  • The stage measures approx.800 sq.mt.  Proscenium m.16 (x 12), it has a PVC carpet, with fixed par floodlights. Stage 0% slope.
  • It is not allowed to use bulky stage props and any sort of make up or othersubstance that could damage the flooring and, therefore, cause problems to the competitors.
  • Banned the use of talcum powder.

Music:

  • Music must be recorded on CD not transcribe;  music can be played live; maximum time granted .
  • Each choreography must have a corresponding CD and it cannot include any other pieces of music in the competition.
  • A backup copy of the CD is recommended.
  • Competitors are requested to supplied one performance quality CD with a break of more than 3 seconds at the beginning of the music.

Jury:

  • The decisions of the Judges are final and without appeal.
  • The jury reserves the right to make further subdivisions or join together the section, to avoid awarding all the prizes or, vice-versa, award special mentions.
  • Competitors will be judged by a jury composed of prestigious personalities internationally recognised in the field of the dance.

Photos and videos:

  • It's forbidden to take videos and photographs during the performance of the competitors unless by staff authorized by the Competition Organization.

Means of entry and documents:

  • The Application form must be carefully filled in all parts.
  • Fill in the form on line by selecting the appropriate link:

  • Send with complete data!
  • Do not send the same data twice.
  • Corrections are made only by e-mail.
  • After you have sent off your application form, a confirmation will be sent to the email address you specified. This confirmation is automatically generated, and will reach you in only few minutes.
  • Any future communication must be made indicating the name of the School (or manager of the group or solo-self) and the city of origin.
  • Application will be accepted in the chronological order of time at which they are received.
  • Excess applications may be refused. Exclusion from the Competition will be promptly communicated to the representatives of the Schools.
    Only and exclusively in this case the fee will be refunded.
  • All competitors must have a good health certificate and minors must have the consent of parents. Download Form A.
  • The Form A must be filled in any part and signed by parents, it will be delivered during the registration procedure.
  • The lack of the requested documents will result get the exclusion from the Competition.

Application fee:

  • For each single choreography performed by Groups   Euro 100,00 + 25,00 for each dancer.
  • For each single choreography performed by soloists    Euro    80,00.
  • For each single choreography performed by couples    Euro  160,00.
  • The Application Form and payment of the relevant fee must be received by December 20th 2010.
  • Application without payment will be not considered after the date expiry.
  • Applicants from countries outside the European Community (with the exception of the Swiss citizens) is recognized a reduction of 50% of the fee as a contribution to costs incurred for the trip .
  • The Application fee (not refundable) must be paid through bank transfer.

  • In the reason of payment you must exclusively indicate:
    The name of Dancing School (or name and surname of the soloist/group without school) city of origin.
    Use up to 50 characters.
  • Free admission to Teatro della Luna for the competitors to Milano Danza International Dance Competition.
  • Accompanying persons can buy the admission tickets 15 Euro  directly at the theater ticket office.
  • Free admission for the accompanying persons coming from other continents.
  • Each School with a group in the Competition will receive 2 free tickets for the  Teachers/Choreographers or Director.

  • Please,don’t send the payment of the Theater tickets to the Secretarial Office of the Competition
